Interstate Highway Restrictions

Friday Night

I-195 Richmond/Exeter: I-95 North, from Exit 3 (Rte. 138) to Exit 5 (Rte. 102), lane closures for construction, Friday night, February 16 from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m. the following day.

I-195 Richmond/Exeter: I-95 North, from Exit 3 (Rte. 138) to Exit 5 (Rte. 102), approximately 15-minute short-duration rolling roadblock interstate closures for construction, Friday night, February 16 from 11 p.m. to 12 a.m. Temporary on-ramp closures at the Exit 3 (Rte. 138) interchange will also be needed.

Weekend

Johnston/Cranston: I-295 South, from Exit 9A (Rte. 6 East) to Exit 1A (Rte. 113 West), right lane closed in a moving operation for pothole patching, Saturday from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Expect delays.

Johnston/Cranston:
I-295 North, from Exit 7 (RI Resource Recovery) to Exit 9A (Rte. 6 East), right lane closed in a moving operation for pothole patching, Saturday from 7 a.m. to 8 a.m. Expect delays.

Smithfield/Johnston: I-295 South and North, from the Massachusetts state line to Exit 7 (RI Resource Recovery), right lane closures in a moving operation for pothole patching, Saturday from 6 a.m. to noon. Expect delays.

Temporary Short-Duration Interstate Closures

I-195 Hopkinton-Exeter: I-95 North and South, from Exit 2 (Hopkinton) to Exit 5 (Rte. 102), approximately 15-minute short-duration rolling roadblock interstate closures for construction, Tuesday night from 11 p.m. to 12 a.m. Temporary on-ramp closures at the Exit 3 (Rte. 138) interchange will also be needed.

Overnight

I-195 Hopkinton-Exeter: I-95 North and South, from Exit 2 (Hopkinton) to Exit 5 (Rte. 102), lane closures with traffic shifted to the right shoulder for construction, Tuesday night from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following day.

I-195 West Greenwich: I-95 North and South, from Exit 5A (Rte. 102 South) to Exit 5B (Rte. 102 North), lane closures for construction, Monday-Thursday nights from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following day.

I-195 Hopkinton-Exeter: I-95 North and South, from Exit 2 (Hopkinton) to Exit 5 (Rte. 102), right lane and shoulder closures for construction, Monday from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

I-195 Richmond/Exeter: I-95 North and South, from Exit 3 (Rte. 138) to Exit 5 (Rte. 102), right lane and shoulder closures for construction, Tuesday and Wednesday from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

I-195 Hopkinton/Richmond: I-95 North and South, from Exit 2 (Hopkinton) to Exit 3 (Rte. 138), right lane and shoulder closures for construction, Thursday and Friday from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Johnston: I-295 North and South at Rte. 5 (Greenville Ave.) between Rte. 6 (Exit 9A and Exit 9B) and Rte. 44 (Exit 12A and 12B), right shoulder closures for construction, through Summer 2018.

Overnight

North Smithfield: Rte. 146 North and South, from the Woonsocket Hill Rd. Bridge to the Pound Hill Rd. Bridge, alternating lane closures for bridge work, Monday-Wednesday nights from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following day.

Continuing

Rte 6 Rte 10 Providence: Truck traffic is restricted to the right lane from the Westminster St. overpass over Rte. 10 South/Rte. 6 West to the Rte. 6/Rte. 10 interchange, and on Rte. 6 East at the Rte. 6/Rte. 10 interchange.

Rte 24 Tiverton/Portsmouth: Rte. 24 South at the Old Sakonnet River Bridge, please watch for construction vehicles exiting and entering the shoulder to access the construction site, weekdays from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. through Summer 2018.

Metropolitan Providence

Temporary Road Closures

Rte 5 Johnston: Rte. 5 (Greenville Ave.) at I-295 is closed for Narragansett Bay Commission sewer line installation. The work zone has been modified with the closure from Salina Ave. to Atwood Ave. Follow signed detours. Please note: the road will remain open to local traffic and emergency vehicles. Pawtucket
: Division Street East over the Division Street Bridge, from Pleasant St. to Water St., will be closed for construction Monday-Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Westbound travel is not restricted.  Local traffic is being detoured via Main St. and School St., with an advanced detour available on I-95 North at Exit 28 (School St.)

Pawtucket: Taft St., under the Division St. Bridge, a lane shift for construction remains in effect.

Weekday

Providence: South Main St. South, from Pike St. to India St., alternating lane closures for a bridge inspection, Wednesday and Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Providence: Rte. 1A (Allens Ave.) North and South, from Ernest St. to Oxford St., right lane and shoulder closures for a bridge inspection, Thursday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Temporary Bridge Closures

Cumberland: The Town-owned Howard Rd. Bridge, which carries Howard Rd. over Abbott Run, is currently closed. Please follow signed detour via Abbot Run Valley Rd. in Cumberland or from Paine Rd. in Massachusetts. More information is available here.

Smithfield: Capron Rd. East and West, from Kane Rd. to Stillwater Rd., alternating one-way traffic for bridge work, Monday-Friday from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Rte 44 Glocester: Motorists on Rte. 44 East and West, at its intersection with Rte. 100, are currently utilizing the new roundabout.

Woonsocket: On Rte. 122 (Hamlet Ave.) at the Hamlet Ave. Bridge over the Blackstone River, lane shifts possible for day work through Winter 2017.

Rte. 112 Charlestown/Richmond: Motorists are experiencing an alternating one-way traffic pattern controlled by temporary traffic signals, for bridge work, 24 hours a day on Rte. 112 North and South, from Butter Lane to Carolina Mill Lane. Expect delays.

Hopkinton/Richmond: Rte. 91 (Church St.) East and West at the Wood River Bridge, shoulder closures with a double lane shift for bridge work, weekdays from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. This traffic pattern is scheduled to last through the end of February 2018.
